  • 23 June 2020 - 10:00

The transnational meeting of the project “Being Aware of Disability: Creating a Curriculum Based on Cognitive Development in Higher Education” with reference number 2019-1-TR01-KA203-074191, carried out by the Center for European Union Education and Youth Programs and accepted within the scope of Erasmus Plus Higher Education Strategic Partnership Projects was carried out online. Project Coordinators Prof. Dr. Can Demirel and Prof. Dr. Emine Koban stated that the aim of the project, which started last September with the slogan “Noticing the Disabled Without Barriers”, is to raise awareness on the rights of individuals with disabilities in higher education and to bring about a mental transformation, and also added that due to the COVID-19 pandemic process, we experienced a more intense digitalization process in education. On the other hand, we started to carry out our project activities online in order to continue the European Union project without interruption. First of all, we conducted our survey study, which was the first of the intellectual outputs of our project and aimed to reveal the needs of the disabled in higher education, simultaneously with Turkey, Greece and Poland. With this online meeting we held, we had the opportunity to evaluate the process with our local and transnational partners. It was carried out with the participation of the project teams of Greece, Poland, Gaziantep and Bursa Uludağ University, using the infrastructure facilities of the Gaziantep University Distance Education Application and Research Center (GAUZEM). The project is being carried out in cooperation with Gaziantep University Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Law, local partner Bursa Uludağ University and transnational project partners Thesally University in Greece and AHE University in Poland.
